SUMMARY

Newly-issued List of 117 plant quarantine objects

On August 31, 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issues Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BNNPTNT promulgating the List of plant quarantine objects of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The List of plant quarantine objects of the socialist republic of Vietnam includes:

1. 112 harmful organisms which are of potential serious harm to vegetation and not yet available in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam:

- Lined click beetle;

- South American fruit fly;

- Mexican fruit fly;

- West Indian fruit fly;

- Sapote fruit fly;

- Guava fruit fly;

- Caribbean fruit fly, etc.

2. 5 harmful organisms which are of potential serious harm to vegetation and narrowly distributed in the Socialist Republic of Vietnams:

- Potato tuber moth;

- Stem nematode;

- Australian dodder;

- Narrow-Leaved Witchweed;

- Asiatic witchweed.

This Circular takes effect from September 29, 2023.

CIRCULAR

PROMULGATING THE LIST OF PLANT QUARANTINE OBJECTS OF THE SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM

 

Pursuant to the 2013 Law on Plant Protection and Quarantine;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 105/2022/ND-CP dated December 22, 2022, defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

At the request of the Director of the Department of Plant Protection;

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development promulgates the Circular promulgating the List of plant quarantine objects of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

 

Article 1. To promulgate together with this Circular the List of plant quarantine objects of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Article 2. Effect

1. This Circular takes effect from September 29, 2023.

2. The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Circular No. 35/2014/TT-BNNPTNT dated October 31, 2014, promulgating the List of plant quarantine objects of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam ceases to be effective from the effective date of this Circular.

Article 3. Implementation responsibility

The Chief of the Ministry Office, Director of the Department of Plant Protection and relevant units, organizations and individuals shall implement this Circular.

Any difficulties arising in the course of implementation should be promptly reported to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (via the Department of Plant Protection) for consideration to amend and supplement./.
