CIRCULAR
On suspension of temporary import for re-export of log
and sawn timber from natural forests of Laos and Cambodia
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 95/2012/ND-CP of November 12, 2012, defining functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade;
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 187/2013/ND-CP of November 20, 2013, detailing the implementation of the Commercial Law regarding international goods sale and purchase and goods sale and purchase agency, processing and transit activities with foreign countries;
In furtherance of the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai in the Government Office’s Official Letter No. 4505/VPCP-KTN of June 18, 2014, on the mechanism of management of material timber imported from Cambodia, and Official Letter No. 7294/VPCP-KTN of September 19, 2014, on suspension of temporary import for re-export of log and sawn timber from natural forests;
At the proposal of the director of the Import and Export Department,
The Minister of Industry and Trade promulgates the Circular on suspension of temporary import for re-export of log and sawn timber from natural forests of Laos and Cambodia.
Article 1.Suspension of temporary import for re-export of timber
1. To suspend the temporary import of log and sawn timber from natural forests under HS headings 44.03 and 44.07 in Vietnam’s List of Imports and Exports from Laos and Cambodia for re-export to a third country.
2. For contracts signed before the effective date of this Circular, traders may continue to carry out temporary import procedures until the end of December 31, 2014.
Article 2.Effect
1. This Circular takes effect on December 8, 2014.
2. Ministries, ministerial-level agencies and related traders, organizations and individuals shall implement this Circular and other relevant regulations.
3. Any problems arising in the course of implementation should be promptly reported by agencies and traders to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for consideration and settlement.-
