Traders engaged in gas manufacture must have laboratories for testing gas quality
On December 10, 2019, the Ministry of Science and Technology promulgates the Circular No. 20/2019/TT-BKHCN on prescribing measurement and quality in gas trading and announcement of gas mixing establishments in Vietnam.
Accordingly, traders engaged in gas manufacture, processing or mixing must have laboratories for testing gas quality or sign contracts of a term of at least one year to hire traders or organizations that have laboratories having registered testing operation in accordance with law. In addition, such traders must be fully capable of testing gas quality indicators according to declared applicable standards and national technical regulations.
Besides, this Circular also stipulates that when using additives in gas manufacturing, processing or mixing, such traders must notify the Ministry of Science and Technology of standards of such additives (their names, ingredients and contents before they are used in gas manufacturing or processing) and commit to ensuring that such additives’ are safe for humans, animals, plants, the environment and air quality.
This Circular takes effect on March 15, 2020.
