NOTICE

On 2025 Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holiday leaves for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers

Pursuant to the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Official Dispatch No. 8726/VPCP-KGVX dated November 26, 2024, of the Government Office, on Lunar New Year holiday leaves and some public holiday leaves in 2025, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs informs administrative agencies, non-business units, political organizations, socio-political organizations, enterprises and other employers to implement the Schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holiday leaves for the year of 2025 as follows:

1. Cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, non-business units, political organizations, and socio-political organizations (hereinafter referred to as civil servants and public employees) shall be entitled to 5 five days off for official Lunar New Year holidays and 4 additional weekend days off for the Lunar New Year holiday in 2025, starting from Saturday, January 25, 2025, to Sunday, February 2, 2025, (corresponding to the 26th day of the 12th lunar month of 2024 to the 5th day of the first lunar month of 2025).

2. On the occasion of the Independence Day of 2025, civil servants and public employees shall be entitled to 2 days off for official Independence Day holiday and 2 additional weekend days off, starting from August 30, 2025, to September 2, 2025.

3. Civil servants and public employees will have their working days swapped from Friday, May 2, 2025, to Saturday, April 26, 2025. Thus, on the occasion of Reunification Day, April 30, and May Day, May 1, 2025, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to Sunday, May 4, 2025, (working as a compensatory day on Saturday, April 26, 2025).

4. Agencies and units following the Schedule for Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holiday leaves for the year of 2025 are required to reasonably arrange and organize on-duty departments according to regulations to ensure continuous handling of tasks, and good service provision for organizations and the People, in which on-duty carders and civil servants should be appointed to handle sudden and unexpected issues that may occur during the Lunar New Year holiday and other public holidays according to regulations.

5. Agencies, units and localities must make plans and take specific and appropriate measures to encourage units, enterprises, organizations and individuals to actively and proactively conduct production, business, economic, and social activities, ensuring stable supply and demand of goods, services, prices, and markets, contributing to promoting production, business, economic growth, practicing thrift, fighting waste, striving to successfully implement the goals and tasks of the 2025 plan, the year of acceleration and breakthrough in implementing the 5-year plan for 2021-2025, creating a solid foundation and premise for rapid and sustainable development in the coming time.

6. Agencies and units that do not have a fixed schedule of days off on Saturday and Sunday every week will base on their specific programs and plans to arrange a suitable schedule in accordance with the law.

7. For workers other than those specified in Clause 1 of this Notice, the employers shall decide on the plan for 2025 Lunar New Year holiday leaves and other holiday leaves for National Day, Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) of 2025 as follows:

- Regarding the Lunar New Year holiday: choose one last day of the lunar year of 2024, and 4 first days of the lunar year of 2025, or 2 last days of the lunar year of 2024, and 3 first days of the lunar year of 2025, or 3 last days of the lunar year of 2024, and 2 first days of the lunar year of 2025.

- Regarding the National Day holiday: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and choose one of 2 days: Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

- Plans for the 2025 Lunar New Year and National Day holiday leaves shall be notified to workers at least 30 days prior to the implementation.

- If the weekly day off falls on a public holiday prescribed in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, workers are entitled to take another day off on the next working day as prescribed in Clause 3 Article 111 of the Labor Code.

- Employers are encouraged to apply the schedule for 2025 Lunar New Year, National Day, Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1) holiday leaves applicable to civil servants and public employees.

8. Other public holiday leaves shall comply with the Labor Code.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs hereby informs agencies, organizations, enterprises, employers and the People for implementation./.
