THE GOVERNMENT’S OFFICE
Official Dispatch No. 6519/VPCP-KGVX dated July 11, 2018 of the Government’s Office on the National holidays in 2019 for public sector employees
To: The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs
After considering the request of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (made in the written document No. 30/TTr-LDTBXH dated June 18, 2018 regarding national holidays in 2019 for public employees working for public sector units, political bodies, and political and economic organizations, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has given the following directives:
1. The request containing the following proposed schedule of national holidays, made by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in the written document No. 30/TTr-LDTBXH as mentioned above, is hereby accepted:
a) On Solar Calendar New Year holidays, public employees shall be entitled to have days off from Monday, December 31, 2018 to end of Tuesday, January 1, 2019, and shall be required to take Saturday, January 5, 2019 as a compensatory workday.
b) On Lunar Calendar New Year holidays, public employees shall be entitled to days off from Monday, February 4, 2019 to end of Friday, February 8, 2019.
c) On Victory Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1), public employees shall be entitled to days off from Monday, April 29, 2019 to end of Wednesday, May 1, 2019, and shall be required to take Saturday, May 4, 2019 as a compensatory workday.
2. Any public sector entity that adopts the abovementioned holiday schedule shall be responsible to properly assign its personnel to ensure uninterrupted and effective public services provided at the request of other organizations and individuals.
Any public sector entity whose days off are not fixed on Saturday and Sunday every week shall be expected to adapt that holiday schedule to its particular working plan and agenda.
3. The Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs shall be authorized to issue an official notice of the schedule of national holidays stated in the paragraph 1 and 2 above.
