SUMMARY

To remove Paraquat container from the List of Permissible Agrochemicals

On February 08, 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issues the Decision No. 278/QD-BNN-BVTV on removal of agrochemicals containing 2.4 D and Paraquat from Vietnam’s List of Permissible Agrochemicals.

Accordingly, 35 agrochemical shall be eliminated from the Vietnam’s List of Permissible Agrochemicals are: AD

500SL, 600SL resigned by the Thai Nong Trading Co., Ltd; A.K

480SL, 720SL resigned by the Thai Phong Trading Co., Ltd; Aldo

500SL, 800WP, 860SL resigned by the Hoc Mon J.S.C…

The agrochemicals above may be produced and imported within 01 year, sold and used within 02 years from February 08, 2017. All procedures for registering agrochemicals containing 2.4 D and Paraquat shall be discontinued from February 08, 2017.

This Decision takes effect on the signing date.

MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 199/2013/ND-CP dated November 26, 2013 defining functions, tasks, entitlements and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;

Pursuant to the Law on Plant Protection and Quarantine No. 41/2013/QH13 dated November 25, 2013;

Pursuant to the Circular No. 21/2015/TT-BNNPTNT dated August 06, 2015 of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on management of agrochemicals.

At the request of the Director of the Plant Protection Department,

HEREBY DECIDES:

Article 1.Appendices 1 and 2 “List of agrochemicals which contain 2.4 D and Paraquat and thus removed from Vietnam’s list of permissible agrochemicals” are promulgated together with this Decision.

Article 2.The agrochemicals provided in Appendices 1 and 2 may be produced and imported within 01 year, sold and used within 02 years from the effective date of this Decision.All procedures for registering agrochemicals containing 2.4 D and Paraquat shall be discontinued from the effective date of this Decision.

Article 3.This Decision takes effect on the signing date.

Article 4.TheChief of the Ministry Office, the Director of the Plant Protection Department, heads of affiliates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development of provinces and central-affiliated cities and relevant organizations and individuals are responsible for the implementation of this Decision./.
