CIRCULAR

On insurance payout limit of the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam

Pursuant to the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam No. 46/2010/QH12;

Pursuant to the Law on Deposit Insurance No. 111/2025/QH15;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 26/2025/ND-CP defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the State Bank of Vietnam;

At the proposal of the Director of the Department of Banking System Safety;

The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam hereby promulgates this Circular on insurance payout limit of the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam.

Chapter I

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. Scope of regulation

This Circular prescribes the insurance payout limit of the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam applicable to insured depositors as provided in Clause 1 Article 22 of the Law on Deposit Insurance.

Article 2. Subjects of application

1. The Deposit Insurance of Vietnam.

2. Insured depositors.

3. Organizations participating in deposit insurance.

4. Other agencies, organizations and individuals involved in deposit insurance activities.

Chapter II

INSURANCE PAYOUT LIMIT

Article 3. Insurance payout limit

The maximum amount payable by the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam in respect of all insured deposits under the Law on Deposit Insurance (including principal and interest) of a single depositor at a single organization participating in deposit insurance upon the occurrence of the obligation to make an insurance payout shall be VND 350,000,000 (three hundred and fifty million dong).

Chapter III

IMPLEMENTATION ORGANIZATION

Article 4. Responsibilities for implementation organization

Heads of units under the State Bank of Vietnam, the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam, and organizations participating in deposit insurance shall implement this Circular.

Article 5. Effect

This Circular takes effect from July 13, 2026./.
