Amending and Supplementing Article 10 of the Population Ordinance^[1]

Pursuant to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam;

The National Assembly Standing Committee promulgates the Ordinance Amending and Supplementing Article 10 of Population Ordinance No. 06/2003/PL-UBTVQH11, which is amended and supplemented under Population Ordinance No. 08/2008/PL-UBTVQH12.

Article 1. To amend and supplement Article 10 of the Population Ordinance

To amend and supplement Article 10 of the Population Ordinance as follows:

“Article 10. Rights and obligations of each couple or individual in the practice of family planning and reproductive health care

1. To decide on the time to have babies, the number of children and birth spacing suitable to their/his/her age, health, study, laboring or working conditions, and income, and raise their/his/her children on the basis of equality.

2. To protect their/his/her health, apply measures to prevent reproductive tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS, and implement other measures related to reproductive health care.”.

Article 2. Implementation provisions

1. This Ordinance takes effect on June 3, 2025.

2. Ordinance No. 08/2008/PL-UBTVQH12 Amending Article 10 of the Population Ordinance ceases to be effective on the effective date of this Ordinance.-

This Ordinance was adopted on June 3, 2025, by the 15^th National Assembly Standing Committee of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at its 46^th session.
