RESOLUTION
On visa exemption for citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of France, the Republic of Italy, the Kingdom of Spain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Russian Federation, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Belarus[1]
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the June 19, 2015 Law on Organization of the Government; and the November 22, 2019 Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Organization of the Government and the Law on Organization of Local Administration;
Pursuant to the June 16, 2014 Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through and Residence in Vietnam and the November 22, 2019 Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through and Residence in Vietnam;
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 138/2016/ND-CP of October 1, 2016, promulgating the Government’s Working Regulation;
Based on the cabinet members’ votes on the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ proposal in Document No. 463/BC-BNG-LS-m of March 1, 2022,
RESOLVES:
Article 1. To grant visa exemption for citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of France, the Republic of Italy, the Kingdom of Spain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Russian Federation, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Denmark, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Finland and the Republic of Belarus when entering Vietnam with a temporary stay period of 15 days from the date of entry, regardless of their type of passport and purpose of entry, provided that they fully satisfy the conditions specified by Vietnam’s law.
Article 2. The policy on visa exemption upon entry into Vietnam for citizens of the countries mentioned in Article 1 shall be implemented for a period of 3 years, from March 15, 2022, through March 14, 2025, and such period will be considered for extension in accordance with Vietnam’s law.
Article 3. This Resolution takes effect on the date of its signing and replaces the Government’s Resolutions No. 21/NQ-CP of February 28, 2020, No. 23/NQ-CP of March 2, 2020, No. 29/NQ-CP of March 11, 2020, and No. 33/NQ-CP of March 19, 2020, on suspension of the unilateral visa exemption policy with countries.
Article 4. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall review and evaluate, and propose to the Government the extension, suspension or termination of, the unilateral visa exemption policy specified in this Resolution.
Article 5. Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, heads of government-attached agencies, chairpersons of provincial-level People’s Committees, and related agencies shall implement this Resolution.-
