In the implementation of the directions given by Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh in the Government Office's Document No. 4721/VPCP-QHQT dated July 14, 2021, regarding the performance of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Ministry of Transport requests relevant agencies and units as follows:
1. General Departments and Departments under the Ministry of Transport, Administrations under the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Transport’s Office should focus on reforming administrative procedures, searching for solutions and intensifying measures to support and improve competitive capacity for transport enterprises while implementing the EVFTA and CPTPP.
2. General Departments and Departments under the Ministry of Transport shall coordinate with the Department of Legal Affairs in reviewing domestic legal documents relating to the implementation of the EVFTA and CPTPP, and advise leaders of the Ministry to amend and promulgate legal documents appropriate to Vietnam's commitments in the above-mentioned Agreements for feasible implementation.
3. The Information Technology Center is assigned to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the International Cooperation Department and relevant units in, studying and reporting to the Ministry of Transport on the development of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) articles on the Ministry of Transport's portal, which is directly connected with the FTA portal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
4. The International Cooperation Department is assigned to urge units and agencies affiliated to the Ministry of Transport to implement the EVFTA and CPTPP, at the same time, connect and seek force resources and opportunities for raising capacity for officers in charge of international integration in general, and implementing the EVFTA and CPTPP in particular.
