Official Dispatch 166/SDL-QLDL 2022 Khanh Hoa allowing tourists infected with COVID-19 to be treated at eligible accommodation facilities

To: Tourism enterprises participating in the pilot program to
welcome international tourists to Khanh Hoa

The Department of Tourism has received the Official Dispatch No. 334/SYT-NVYD dated January 20, 2022 of the Department of Health, on allowing tourists infected with COVID-19 to be treated at eligible accommodation facilities. Accordingly, the Department of Health agreed with the policy of allowing tourists visiting Vietnam under the Vaccine Passport Program, who are mild or asymptomatic F0 cases to be quarantined and treated at accommodation facilities which have separate rooms and are eligible for quarantine according to the “four-on-the-spot” motto.

For the safety of tourists and employees at accommodation facilities, the Department of Tourism requests enterprises to strictly comply with the following requirements:

1. Regarding accommodation facilities receiving tourists visiting Vietnam under the Vaccine Passport Program, who are mild or asymptomatic F0 cases subject to quarantine and treatment at accommodation facilities:

- To arrange separate areas and rooms that are eligible for on-site quarantine as prescribed and have their health staff monitor tourists infected with COVID-19, and F1, F2 cases on a daily basis; ensure necessary medical equipment, treat infectious wastes, and prevent infection within the accommodation facilities. To report the above requirements in writing to the Department of Health and the Department of Tourism for monitoring, management and direction.

- To provide guidance for tourists infected with COVID-19 on making commitments to take healthcare measures at accommodation facilities. Such commitments must bear their signatures (or their guardians) and representatives of accommodation facilities; be stored and managed by the accommodation facilities.

- To strictly manage tourists who are F0, F1 and F2 cases according to quarantine requirements at accommodation facilities.

- To take prime responsibility for monitoring and taking care of their tourists who are F0, F1 and F2 cases on a daily basis; avoiding infection in the accommodation facilities. To actively coordinate and report the Center for Disease Control, Health Centers in localities and relevant medical units for prompt supervision and support.

2. Regarding international travel agencies:

- To coordinate with accommodation facilities in strictly managing tourists who are F0, F1 and F2 cases according to quarantine requirements at accommodation facilities.

- To report in detail (tourist information, the process of quarantine and treatment at accommodation facilities and their health) in case where their tourists are infected with COVID-19 for monitoring, management and direction.

- To take responsibility for paying all treatment costs for their tourists according to regulations, in case the tourists are unable to pay for such costs.

The Department of Tourism hereby informs tourism enterprises participating in the pilot program to
welcome international tourists to Khanh Hoa for implementation./.
