DECISION

On adding the Zika virus disease to the List of class-B infectious diseases defined in the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases

THE MINISTER OF HEALTH

 

Pursuant to the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases;

Pursuant to the Government's Decree No. 63/2012/ND-CP dated August 31, 2012 on defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Health;

Based on the danger, transmissibility and percentage of deaths of the Zika virus disease;

At the proposal of Director of the General Department of Preventive Medicine,

 

DECIDES:

 

Article 1. To add the Zika virus disease to the List of class-B infectious diseases defined at Point b, Clause 1, Article 3 the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases.

Article 2. Activities of prevention and control of the Zika virus disease shall be carried out in accordance with regulations on dangerous infectious diseases that can rapidly transmit and be fatal of class B in the Law on Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases.

Article 3. This Decision takes effect on the signing date.

Article 4. The Chief of Ministry Office; the Chief of Inspectorate of Ministry; Directors and General Directors of Departments and General Departments of the Ministry of Health; units of the Ministry; Directors of provincial-level Health Departments; Directors of Centers of Preventive Medicine; Directors of hospitals of provinces and centrally-run cities; Heads of medical units of ministries and branches; Heads of relevant units shall be responsible for the implementation of this Decision./.
