THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH

Decision No. 2369/QD-BYT dated June 16, 2015 of the Ministry of Health on adding Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (Mers-Cov) to the list of class a extremely dangerous infectious diseases of the law on prevention and control of infectious diseases
Pursuant to Article 3 of the Law on prevention and control of infectious diseases dated November 21, 2007;
Pursuant to the Decree No. 63/2012/ND-CP dated August 31, 2012 by the Government defining the functions, tasks, entitlements and organizational structure of the Ministry of Health;
Pursuant to the dangerousness, transmissibility and death rate of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV);
At the request of the Director of General Department of Preventive Medicine,
DECIDES:
Article 1. Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) is added to the list of class A extremely dangerous infectious diseases of the Law on prevention and control of infectious diseases specified in Point (a) Clause 1 Article 3 of the Law on prevention and control of infectious diseases.
Article 2. The prevention and control of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) shall comply with the regulations in the Law on prevention and control of infectious diseases applicable to class A extremely dangerous infectious diseases.
Article 3. This Decision takes effect on the signing date.
Article 4. The Chief of the Ministry Office; the Chief Inspector of the Ministries, Directors and Director Generals of Departments and Directorates affiliated to the Ministry of Health; units affiliated to the Ministries; Directors of the Departments of Health; Director of medical preventive centers, Director of Hospitals of provinces; Heads of medical units affiliated to the Ministries and regulatory bodies and Heads of relevant units shall be responsible for implementing this Decision./.
