SUMMARY

Import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023

Circular No. 13/2023/TT-BCT providing for import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023 is issued on June 09, 2023 by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

1. Quantity of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023 as follows:

- Salt (heading 2501): 84,000 tons

- Fowls’ eggs; ducks’ eggs, and others (headings 0407.21.00 and 0407.90.10, 0407.29.10 and 0407.90.20, 0407.29.90 and 0407.90.90): 67,117dozens.

2. Subjects eligible to be allocated import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023 include:

- Import tariff-rate quotas for salt shall be allocated to traders for direct use as materials for production of drugs, medical products and chemicals.

- Import tariff-rate quotas for birds’ eggs shall be allocated to traders that wish to import birds’ eggs.

This Circular takes effect from July 25, 2023, through December 31, 2023.

CIRCULAR

Providing for import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023[1]

 

Pursuant to the 2017 Law on Foreign Trade Management;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 96/2022/ND-CP of November 29, 2022, defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP of May 15, 2018, detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management;

At the proposal of the Director General of the Agency of Foreign Trade;

The Minister of Industry and Trade promulgates the Circular providing for import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023.

Article 2. Method of allocating import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023

The allocation of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023 must comply with the method specified in the Government’s Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP of May 15, 2018, detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Circular No. 12/2018/TT-BCT of June 15, 2018, detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management and the Government’s Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP of May 15, 2018, detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management.

Article 3. Subjects eligible to be allocated import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023

1. Import tariff-rate quotas for salt shall be allocated to traders for direct use as materials for production of drugs, medical products and chemicals.

2. Import tariff-rate quotas for birds’ eggs shall be allocated to traders that wish to import birds’ eggs.

Article 4. Time for allocation of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs in 2023

The Ministry of Industry and Trade shall exchange opinions with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ministry of Finance to determine the time for allocation of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and birds’ eggs.

Article 5. Effect

This Circular takes effect from July 25, 2023, through December 31, 2023.-
