SUMMARY

Visa exemption for 12 countries under Vietnam's Tourism Stimulus Programme

On August 8, 2025, the Government issues the Resolution No. 229/NQ-CP on visa exemption under the Tourism Stimulus Programme for citizens of Belgium Kingdom, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of Netherlands, the Republic of Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Swiss Confederation.

- To exempt visa for a temporary stay of up to 45 days from the date of entry for tourism purposes for citizens of 12 countries, including: Belgium Kingdom, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of Netherlands, the Republic of Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Swiss Confederation

- The policy on entry visa exemption for citizens of the above countries shall be implemented from August 15, 2025, to the end of August 14, 2028, under the Tourism Stimulus Programme.

On visa exemption under the Tourism Stimulus Programme for citizens of Belgium Kingdom, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of Netherlands, the Republic of Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Swiss Confederation

THE GOVERNMENT

 

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated February 18, 2025;

Pursuant to the June 16, 2014 Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through and Residence in Vietnam; the November 25, 2019 Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through and Residence in Vietnam; and the June 24, 2023 Law Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and the Law on Foreigners’ Entry into, Exit from, Transit through, and Residence in Vietnam;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 39/2022/ND-CP dated June 18, 2022, promulgating the Working Regulation of the Government;

At the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Document No. 3279/TTr-BNG- LS dated August 06, 2025;

Based on the Government members’ vote.

 

RESOLVES:

 

Article 1. To exempt visa for citizens of Belgium Kingdom, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of Netherlands, the Republic of Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Swiss Confederation for a temporary stay of up to 45 days from the date of entry for tourism purposes, regardless of passport types, provided that they satisfy conditions for entry as prescribed by Vietnamese laws.

Article 2. The policy on entry visa exemption for citizens of the countries specified in Article 1 shall be implemented from August 15, 2025, to the end of August 14, 2028, under the Tourism Stimulus Programme.

Article 3. The Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP dated January 15, 2025 of the Government, on visa exemption under the Tourism Stimulus Programme for 2025 for citizens of the Republic of Poland, the Czech Republic, and the Swiss Confederation ceases to be effective from August 15, 2025.

Article 4. Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, heads of government-attached agencies, chairpersons of People’s Committees of provinces, centrally-run cities and related agencies shall implement this Resolution./.
