Several units have recently sent official letter to the State Bank of Vietnam asking for guidance on making payment in foreign currency by export processing enterprises. For this issue, State Bank of Vietnam would like to give out its opinions as follows:

The payment for goods and services trading, transfer and other transaction relations between export processing enterprises, enterprises operating in export processing zone, or between export processing enterprises and enterprises outside the export processing zone shall be performed in freely convertible foreign currency or in Vietnam Dong through an account opened at credit institutions. This regulation shall be applicable till the State Bank of Vietnam issues a guiding Circular on related issues.

Any difficulty, query that may arise during the implementation should be timely reported by Manager of State Bank branches in provinces, cities, General Directors (Directors) of credit institutions, Chief of Management Board of export processing zones to State Bank of Vietnam for solution.
