Premier orders rapid response to floods in central region

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked ministers and provincial leaders to take proactive measures to mitigate the impact of prolonged heavy rains and flooding in the central region.

In official telegram 120/CD-TTg dated November 25, relentless rainfall over recent days has affected Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh provinces, triggering landslides, localized flooding and transport disruptions.

Forecasts indicate that due to a cold front, strong winds at sea and continued heavy rainfall may cause flooding and landslide risks over the next 2-3 days.
