At the same time, they must ensure that the payment account number and payment account name are accurately reflected in accordance with the agreement on the opening and use of the customer’s payment account and that such information is fully displayed on the payment document.

Accordingly, the payment account name must match the information on the Identity card or Citizen’s Identity Card to enhance security and safety in transactions.

This regulation implies that banks will terminate nickname services (nickname/iNick) for accounts. These are custom names created by customers alongside their official account numbers for memorability and personalization. However, the use of nicknames also poses potential risks, such as causing confusion during fund transfers.
