On October 01, 2024, the Ministry of Health issues Circular No. 19/2024/TT-BYT on promulgating the List of imported and exported medical equipment with commodity codes determined according to Vietnam’s Nomenclature of exports and imports.
For imported and exported medical equipment that has neither been listed nor assigned HS codes in the List promulgated together with this Circular, the determination of HS codes shall comply with the customs law. After customs clearance, individual and institutional exporters and importers shall send documents to the Ministry of Health (the Department of Medical Equipment and Works) to serve as a basis for coordinating with the Ministry of Finance to consider unifying, updating and promulgating the supplementary List.
The List of medical equipment with HS codes promulgated with this Circular shall be used as a basis for organizations and individuals to export and import medical equipment into Vietnam.

Gel preparations are designed to be used in humans as a lubricant for parts of the body for surgical operations or physical examinations or as a coupling agent between the body and medical instruments
This Circular takes effect on November 16, 2024.
