Amend the list of aquatic animals and animal products exempted from quarantine

On July 28, 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development hereby issues the Circular No. 06/2022/TT-BNNPTNT on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circulars providing regulations on the quarantine of aquatic animals and animal products.

Circular 06 amends and supplements Section III, Part A, and Part B of Appendix I of Circular No. 26/2016/TT-BKHDT, accordingly:

Aquatic animal products must have a quarantine in accordance with law provisions such as:

  • Aquatic animal products (embryo, egg, semen, and larvae products) in fresh, chilled or frozen form.
  • Aquatic animal products are subject to quarantine as requested by the importing countries or the provisions of the treaties to which Vietnam has signed or acceded to.

- List of aquatic animals and animal products exempted from quarantine is amended, and supplemented as follows:

  • Imported aquatic animals and animal products through the diplomatic channel.
  • Aquatic animal products are imported for use as materials for export processing or export production (new regulations).
  • Aquatic animal products are used as samples (new regulations).
  • Aquatic animal products are imported for display at fairs or exhibitions (new regulations).
  • Aquatic animal products are being exported as food that is recalled or returned (new regulations).
The Circular No. 06/2022/TT-BNNPTNT takes effect on September 11, 2022.
