DECREE
ON THE SETTING UP OF THE NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT
THE GOVERNMENT
Pursuant to the December 25, 2001 Law on Organization of the Government;
Pursuant to the June 9, 2000 Science and Technology Law;
At the proposal of the Minister of Science and Technology,
DECREES:
Article 1.- To set up the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development under the provisions in Article 39 of the Science and Technology Law.
Article 2.- To promulgate together with this Decree the Charter on Organization and Operation of the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development.
Article 3.- This Decree takes effect 15 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
The ministers, the heads of the ministerial-level agencies, the heads of the Government-attached agencies and the presidents of the People's Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities shall have to implement this Decree.

Chapter I
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Article 1.- Functions of the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development
The National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (hereinafter referred to as the Fund for short) operates for non-profit purposes, has the function of financing and lending capital for the performance of scientific and technological tasks proposed by organizations or individuals.
