REDUCING ELECTRICITY SELLING PRICE FROM JUNE 01, 2014
The Minister of Industry and Trade issued the Decision No. 4887/QD-BCT dated May 30, 2014 dated May 30, 2014 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on electricity selling price. Of which, one of the most significant points is new regulation on electricity retail price for domestic use with prepaid meter. Accordingly, from June 01, 2014, the electricity retail price for domestic use with prepaid meter is 1,992 dong/kWh.
On this time, the average retail price is 1,508.85 dong/ kWh (with VAT excluded). However, the retail price for domestic use applied for poor households and low income households is annulled (993 dong/kWh). Therefore, form June 01, 2014, electricity retail price only remains 6 levels with corresponding prices from level 1 – 6 are 1,388 dong/kWh; 1,433 dong /kWh; 1,660 dong /kWh; 2,082 dong /kWh; 2,324 dong /kWh và 2,399 dong /kWh respectively, reducing from 30 – 384 dong/kWh (the prices according to current regulations are 1,418 dong/kWh; 1,622 dong/kWh; 2,044 dong /kWh; 2,210 dong /kWh; 2,361 dong /kWh và 2,420 dong/kWh).
From June 01, 2014, the electricity selling price for business and non-business administrative units also reduces slightly. Specifically, the retail price for hospitals, nursery, kindergarten, high school reduces from 1,379 dong/kWh to 1,358 dong/kWh (for voltage of 6 kV or higher) and from 1,471 dong /kWh to 1,448 dong/kWh (for voltage of less than 6 kV); the retail price for business in normal time, Off-peak hour, peak hour reduce to 2,007 dong/kWh, 1,132 dong/kWh and 3,470 dong/kWh respectively (for voltage of 22 kV or higher).
This Circular takes effect on June 01, 2014.
