DECISION
RATIFYING THE RESULTS OF THE 2000 GENERAL LAND INVENTORY
THE PRIME MINISTER
Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government of September 30, 1992;
Pursuant to the June 14, 1993 Land Law and the December 11, 1999 Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Land Law;
At the proposal of the General Director of Land Administration on the results of the 2000 national general land inventory (Report No. 125/TT-TCDC of February 6, 2001),
DECIDES:
Article 1.-To ratify the results of the 2000 national general land inventory which has been carried out under the Prime Ministers Directive No. 24/1999/CT-TTg of August 18, 1999:
Total area of natural land of the country: 32,924,061 ha.
Including:
- Area of agricultural land: 9,345,346 ha
- Area of forestry land with forest: 11,575,429 ha
- Area of special-use land: 1,532.843 ha
- Area of residential land: 443,178 ha
- Area of unused land and rivers, streams, rocky mountains: 10,027,265 ha
Article 2.-Data of the 2000 general land inventory results of the whole country and each administrative unit of all levels, determined in the inventory, shall be uniformly used throughout the country in the 2001-2005 period; annually, the General Land Administration and Peoples Committees of all levels shall have to make the periodical statistics to update the changes in the use process.
Article 3.-The results of the 2000 general land inventory shall be uniformly used as basis for the ministries, branches and Peoples Committees of all levels to study and calculate the plan norms, and draw out the socio-economic development strategies and policies in general; the plans on land resource use in particular and other relevant schemes.
The Peoples Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities, the General Land Administration, the concerned ministries and branches shall have to organize the effective exploitation and use of inventory results.
Article 4.-This Decision takes effect 15 days after its signing. The ministers, the heads of ministerial-level agencies, the heads of the agencies attached to the Government, the presidents of the Peoples Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities shall have to implement this Decision.
