DECISION

ON CONTINUING TO GRANT CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN OF BI-VALVE MOLLUSKS

THE PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government of September 30, 1992;
In furtherance of the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 19/2000/QD-TTg of February 3, 2000 on canceling licenses and permits which are contrary to provisions of the Enterprise Law;
At the proposal of the Minister of Aquatic Resources,

DECIDES:

Article 1.- To allow the continued granting of certificate of origin of bi-valve mollusks (which has been annulled under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 19/2000/QD-TTg of February 3, 2000) at the requests of organizations and individuals that produce, harvest and/or trade in mollusks.

Article 2.- The Ministry of Aquatic Resources shall continue to study for promulgation or submission to the Government for promulgation the regulations for the management and control of toxins and disease-causing microorganism existing in aquatic products in breeding areas, with a view to protecting the consumers’ health; and at the same time follow on the direction of creating favorable conditions for the production and export of aquatic products.

Article 3.- This Decision takes effect after its signing.

The ministers, the heads of the ministerial-level agencies, the heads of agencies attached to the Government and the presidents of the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities shall have to implement this Decision.
