SUMMARY

Water levels in accordance with flood warning levels at 244 hydrological stations

This is the regulation prescribed by the Prime Minister in the Decision No. 05/2020/QD-TTg on promulgating water levels in accordance with flood warning levels on rivers nationwide dated January 31, 2020.

Accordingly, the water levels in accordance with flood warning levels at 244 hydrological stations on rivers nationwide shall be specific as follow:

Firstly, water levels in accordance with flood warning levels on Da river (Hoa Binh hydrological station) shall be: 20m (level I); 21,0 m (level II); 22,0 m (level III).

Secondly, water levels in accordance with flood warning levels on Ma river (Xa La hydrological station) shall be: 279,5 m (level I); 280,5 m (level II); 281,5 m (level III).

Thirdly, water levels in accordance with flood warning levels on Hong river (Ha Noi – Long Bien hydrological station) shall be: 9,5 m (level I); 10,5 m (level II); 11,5 m (level III).

Fourthly, water levels in accordance with flood warning levels on Han river (Cam Le hydrological station) shall be: 1,0 m (level I); 2,0 m (level II); 2,5 m (level III).

Fifthly, water levels in accordance with flood warning levels on Sai Gon river (Phu An hydrological station) shall be: ,4 m (level I); 1,5 m (level II); 1,6 m (level III)...

This Decision takes effect from March 20, 2020.

DECISION

Promulgating water levels in accordance with flood warning levels on rivers nationwide

THE PRIME MINISTER

          Pursuant to the Law on Governmental organization dated June 19, 2015;

          Pursuant to the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control dated June 16, 2013;

          Pursuant to the Law on Hydro-meteorology dated November 23, 2015;

          At the request of the Minister of Natural resources and Environment;

          The Prime Minister hereby issues the Decision promulgating water levels in accordance with flood warning levels on rivers nationwide.

          Article 1. Scope of regulation

          This Decision promulgates water levels in accordance with flood warning levels at hydrological stations on rivers for flood prevention and control, and for socio-economic development.

          Article 2. Subjects of application

          This Decision shall apply to national hydro-meteorological forecast and warning systems; Natural disaster prevention and control agencies from central to grassroot levels; other organizations and individuals engaged in activities related to flood warning levels on rivers nationwide.

          Article 3. Principles for classifying flood warning levels

          1. Flood warning level is the delineation of flood levels. Each flood level shall be determined by a corresponding water level specified in hydrological stations on rivers and streams, reflecting the magnitude of floods as well as the extent of floodss caused by flooding.

          2. The flood warning levels shall be classified into three levels based on the characteristics, magnitude of flood water level and the impacts of flood on the safety of dykes, banks, river banks, people's buildings and livelihoods, and the socio-economic situation of a region.

          Article 4. Detailing the promulgation of water levels in accordance with flood warning levels at hydrological stations on rivers
