Circular 44/2018/TT-BCT suspending temporary import for re-export of log, sawn timber from Laos and Cambodia

Circular No. 44/2018/TT-BCT dated November 15, 2018 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on suspension of temporary import for re-export of log and sawn timber from natural forests of Laos and Cambodia

Pursuant to the Law on Foreign Trade Management dated June 12, 2017;

Pursuant to Decree No. 98/2017/ND-CP dated August 18, 2017 of the Government on defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade;

Pursuant to Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018 of the Government on guidelines for the Law on Foreign Trade Management;

At the request of Director of Export and Import Department,

The Minister of Industry and Trade promulgates a Circular on suspension of temporary import for re-export of round timber and sawn timber from natural forests of Laos and Cambodia.

Article 1. Scope of adjustment

This Circular provides for suspension of temporary import for re-export of round timber and sawn timber from natural forests of Laos and Cambodia.

Article 2. Subjects of application

1. Traders involved in temporary import for re-export of round timber and sawn timber from natural forests of Laos and Cambodia

2. Authorities and organizations responsible for management of temporary import for re-export of round timber and sawn timber from Laos and Cambodia

3. Other organizations relevant to temporary import for re-export of round timber and sawn timber from Laos and Cambodia

Article 3. Suspension of temporary import for re-export of timber

To suspend the temporary import of log and sawn timber from natural forestsof Laos and Cambodiaunder HS headings 44.03 and 44.07 in Vietnam’s List of Imports and Exports, which is issued together with Circular No. 65/2017/TT-BTC dated June 27, 2017 of the Ministry of Finance on promulgating the List of Vietnam’s posts and exports and amendments thereto (if any),for re-export to a third country.

Article 4. Effect

1. This Circular takes effect from January 01, 2019 to December 31, 2023.

2. This Circular replaces Circular No. 37/2014/TT-BCT dated October 24, 2014 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on suspension of temporary import for re-export of log and sawn timber from natural forests of Laos and Cambodia.

3. Should any question arise during implementation, entities concerned shall inform the Ministry of Industry and Trade in writing for handling./.
