SUMMARY

Annul provisions on granting automatic import licenses for motorbike with capacity of 175cm3

On September 19, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issues the Circular No. 27/2018/TT-BCT on annulling the provisions on granting automatic import licenses for motorcycles of a cylinder capacity of 175 cm3 or higher.

Accordingly, the Circular No. 06/2007/TT-BTM on guiding the import of motorcycles of a cylinder capacity of 175 cm3 or higher and Article 3 of the Circular No. 10/2011/TT-BCT shall be annulled on November 05, 2018.

The Circular No. 06/2007/TT-BTM prescribed, motorcycles of a cylinder capacity of 175 cm3 or higher are imported under automatic import licenses granted by the Ministry of Trade and the import of used high-cylinder capacity motorbikes is prohibited.

From the effective date of this Circular, the procedures for import of motorcycles of a cylinder capacity of 175 cm3 or higher shall be carried out at customs offices in accordance with the current regulations.

This Circular takes effect on November 05, 2018.

CIRCULAR

Annulling the provisions on granting automatic import licenses for motorcycles of a cylinder capacity of 175 cm3 or higher

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 98/2017/ND-CP of August 18, 2017, defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP of May 15, 2017, detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management;

Considering the proposal of the Director of the Import-Export Department;

The Minister of Industry and Trade promulgates the Circular annulling the provisions on granting automatic import licenses for motorcycles of a cylinder capacity of 175 cm3 or higher.

Article 1. To annul the Ministry of Trade (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade)’s Circular No. 06/2007/TT-BTM of May 30, 2007, guiding the import of motorcycles of a cylinder capacity of 175 cm3 or higher, and Article 3 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Circular No. 10/2011/TT-BCT of March 30, 2011, amending, supplementing and annulling a number of provisions on administrative procedures for import and export activities under the Government’s Resolution No. 59/NQ-CP of December 17, 2010, on simplification of administrative procedures under the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s management.

Article 2. The procedures for import of motorcycles of a cylinder capacity of 175 cm3 or higher shall be carried out at customs offices in accordance with the current regulations.

Article 3. Effect

This Circular takes effect on November 5, 2018.-
