To annul limits of content of formaldehyde and aromatic amines in textile products
On October 12, 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the Circular No. 23/2016/TT-BCT to annul the Circular No. 37/2015/TT-BCT dated October 30, 2015 of the Ministry of Trade and Industry regulations on limits and inspection of content of formaldehyde and aromatic amines derived from azo colorants in textile products.
Accordingly, from November 26, 2016, Circular No. 37/2015/TT-BCT providing regulations on limits and inspection of content of formaldehyde and aromatic amines derived from azo colorants in textile products formally expired. Therefore, regulations on Requirements for appointed inspecting bodies; Procedures for appointment of appointed inspecting bodies; Any organization that wishes to participate in the State inspection of content of formaldehyde and aromatic amines derived from azo colorants in textile products shall be expired from the effective date of this Circular.
Within that, the important contents are the content limits and inspection of formaldehyde and aromatic amines derived from azo colorants in textile products, the limits of content of formaldehyde in textile products for children under 36 months of age is maximum at 30 mg/kg; the limits of content of formaldehyde in textile products in direct contact with human’s skin is maximum at 75 mg/kg the limits of content of formaldehyde in textile products not in direct contact with human's skin is maximum at 300 mg/kg.
This Circular takes effect on November 26, 2016.
