Expiry date of repackaged goods are required to be shown on their labels
This content is prescribed in the Circular No. 05/2019/TT-BKHCN dated June 26, 2019 of the Ministry of Science and Technology, detailing a number of articles of the Government’s Decree No. 43/2017/ND-CP of April 14, 2017, on goods labeling.
In accordance with this Circular, date of manufacture and expiry date of goods that are divided into smaller units, filled, charged or repackaged are required to be shown on their labels according to law. Specifically, a goods label must fully show 03 following contents: Date of manufacture; Unabbreviated date of division into smaller units, filling, charging or packaging and Expiry date.
This Circular also guides the distinction of commercial packagings of goods and non-commercial packagings of goods. Accordingly, packagings used for storing, transporting and preserving labeled goods; shopping bags; and packagings used for containing bulk goods and retailed goods are non-commercial ones.
One noticeable content is the provision on position of goods label. Compulsory contents of goods labels may be shown in different positions on goods where such contents can be easily and fully noticed.
This Circular takes effect on January 01, 2021.
