To build Long Thanh international airport, phase 1 with capacity of 25 million passengers/year
On November 26, 2019, the National Assembly adopts the Resolution No. 95/2019/QH14 on the feasibility study report for the investment project to build Long Thanh international airport, phase 1.
Accordingly, to approve a number of major contents of the feasibility study report for the investment project to build Long Thanh international airport, phase 1 (below referred to as the project), as follows:
Firstly, to invest in building 1 runway and 1 passenger terminal with synchronous auxiliary items for receiving 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo per year.
Secondly, to adjust the land area for national defense purpose from 1,050 hectares to 570 hectares exclusively for national defense purpose and 480 hectares for construction of aviation infrastructure facilities for military and civil purposes. The management and use of the land area for military and civil purposes must comply with the land law and law on civil aviation, giving priority to military activities upon performance of national defense tasks.
Thirdly, to additionally build 2 road routes linked to the project, namely: route No. 01 linked to national highway 51; and route No. 02 linked to the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway. The investment, land recovery, compensation, support and resettlement must comply with law.
This Resolution takes effect on the date of its adoption by the National Assembly.
