Official Dispatch No. 468/CN-TACN dated March 31, 2017 of the Department of Livestock Production on import of animal feeds containing antibiotics in compliance with the Circular No. 06/2016/TT- BNNPTNT dated May 31, 2016
To: Importers of livestock and poultry feed products
In response to the guidelines from the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development on the roadmap for limitation on, and step forward in prohibition of, use of antibiotics for growth promotion in livestock and poultry feeds, the Department of Livestock Production hereby requests Importers of animal feeds to implement the following duties from January 1, 2018 in accordance with the Circular No. 06/2016/TT-BNNPTNT dated May 31, 2016:
1. Halt importation of animal feeds containing antibiotics for growth promotion that are not prescribed by the Circular No. 06 from May 1, 2017 and take responsibility for taking monitoring actions to ensure that none of animal fee products which are not covered by the Circular No. 06, in case of having already been imported ahead of that date, will no longer be sold in the market after June 30, 2017.
2. Terminate importation of all animal feeds containing antibiotics for growth promotion from October 1, 2017 and take responsibility for taking monitoring actions to ensure that none of animal feed products which have already been imported ahead of that date, will no longer be sold in the market from January 1, 2018.
