Official Dispatch No. 2820/UBND-VX dated July 26, 2020 of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on strengthening the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic in Ho Chi Minh City

To:         - Heads of Departments, sectors and branches;

- Chairpersons of People’s Committees of districts, wards, communes and towns.

In the face of the complicated situation of COVID-19 epidemic in Da Nang City, in order to strictly control the epidemic and prevent it from spreading in the community; Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests heads of departments, sectors, branches and Chairpersons of People’s Committees of districts, wards, communes and towns to strictly implement the following contents:

1. All sectors and authorities all levels are required not to be subjective in their neglect in the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic, increase propaganda for the people to properly and fully comply with the regulations on prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic. To strictly implement the Notice No. 253/TB-VPCP dated July 25, 2020 of the Government Office on the conclusion of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in the meeting of the Standing Government on COVID-19 Prevention and Control; the Official Dispatch No. 3961/CV-BCD dated July 25, 2020 of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control on strengthening the prevention and control of COVID-19 epidemic.

2. The Ministry of Health is assigned to coordinate with People’s Committees of districts and Ho Chi Minh City police in directing their affiliated agencies and units to organize the review and inspection in community. At the same time, it is assigned to communicate and mobilize the people to voluntarily and promptly notify local government and medical departments about those who have traveled to Da Nang City since July 01, 2020 and are staying in Ho Chi Minh City for the application of medical surveillance measures under the National Steering Committee in order to protect the people’s health and prevent the epidemic from spreading. To be specific:

- Cases of contact with patients 416, 418 or other patients (if any) shall be under centralized quarantine and taken testing samples as prescribed.

- Cases showing any symptom related to COVID-19 must be quarantined in medical establishments and tested for SARS-CoV-2 for timely treatment.

- For other cases: After health declaration, they shall be epidemiologically investigated in order to apply health quarantine measures at home or monitor their health at home by themselves, at the same time, to be taken testing samples under the Ministry of Health’s instruction.
