Summary

List of focal agencies designated for implementation of UKVFTA

On August 24, 2021, the Prime Minister issues the Decision No. 1425/QD-TTg on designating focal agencies for implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UKVFTA).

Specifically, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is the focal agency for implementation of the UKVFTA’s Chapters as follows: Targets and general definition (Chapter 1); Trade Remedies (Chapter 3); Non-Tariff Barriers to Trade and Investment in Renewable Energy Production (Chapter 7); Competition Policies (Chapter 10); State-Owned Enterprises, Enterprises Granted Special Rights and Privileges, and Designated Monopolies (Chapter 11); Institutional, General and Final Provisions (Chapter 17); etc.

Besides, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is the focal agency participating in the Trade Committee, Committee on Trade in Goods, Committee on Trade and Sustainable Development and Expert Council; the Ministry of Transport shall be the focal agency participating in the Working Group on Motor Vehicles and Parts; the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall be the focal agency participating in the Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures; etc.

This Decision takes effect on the date of its signing.
